Yeend King
was an important Victorian genre and landscape painter. King
studied in London under William Bromley and in Paris with Leon
Bonnat where he was influenced by French realist painters. He
was elected to the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal
Institute of Painters in Watercolour, and the Royal Institute
of Painters in Oil Colours. He exhibited at the Royal Academy
and the RBA countless times. His works are in many museums including
the Tate Gallery, Walker Art Gallery and Leeds Art Gallery.
