Manuel Ayaso

Manuel Ayaso was born in Aguiño in Galicia, Spain but emigrated to the United States in the 1950s. He studied at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. The recipient of a Tiffany Foundation Grant and the Paleta de Prata (Silver Palatte award) from the Association of Galician Artists, Ayaso has exhibited widely, including exhbitions at the Newark Museum, the Smithsonian, De Young Museum, Forum Gallery in New York, Montclair Art Museum, and many others. Influenced by Goya, Bosch, and da Vinci, Manuel Ayaso favors a surrealist style. Ayaso's work is in major museums worldwide.
