Carle Michel
Boog was born in Switzerland and moved to the United States as
a child. He studied at the Art Students League and at the Ecole
des Beaux Arts in Paris. After returning to New York, Boog exhibited
at the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of
Fine Arts, the Corcoran Gallery, the Society of Independent Artists,
and many other venues. He was a member of the Salmagundi Club
and Allied Artists of America. Boog was also a prolific illustrator,
illustrating A Child's History of the World; Leatherstocking
Tales; How it Came About Stories; and many others.
