Baruj Salinas

b. 1938

Born in Havana, Cuba, Baruj Salinas came to the U.S. to study at Kent State and left Cuba permanently in 1959. Salinas later studied in Europe with Joan Miro and Antoni Tapies. Baruj Salinas has been exhibiting internationally since 1959, beginning with an exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana. Additionally, Salinas has exhibited at Miami Museum of Modern Art, Galeria Misrachi in Mexico City, Franz Bader Gallery in Washington, D.C., Ringling Museum, and many others. Baruj Salinas' paintings are in numerous collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, Ringling Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, Museum of the Americas, and many others.
